Children's Sunglasses
Sun exposure can damage all eyes. Children are just as likely to suffer from damage caused by UV rays as adults. In fact, babies and young children are actually more susceptible to UV damage because their lenses and corneas are more translucent. A single day in the sun can cause damage to eyes. Children’s eyes must be protected, by making them wear sunglasses. To encourage and attract them to sunglasses try selecting frames with cartoon images on them or in their favourite colours. Perhaps let them choose sunglasses and wear sunglasses yourself to set an example and encourage them. Ensure that children’s sunglasses have a 100% UV protection and are not just a fashionable accessory. Sunglasses should primarily be worn as a safety measure. Polycarbonate lenses are best for children as they are shatter-resistant.
Eyes can be further protected, by wearing hats or a sun visor in bright sunlight.
