New Corneal Implants Designed

A new synthetic implant could be used to restore vision in patients who are awaiting corneal transplants, researchers claim. Coated with a special polymer, the artificial lens also encourages the growth of healthy corneal cells. The device could be used to treat patients who have lost or badly damaged their vision through illness or injury.
