Suitability for INTACS
INTACS are not a suitable treatment option for everybody who is nearsighted. Your prescription must be within a certain boundary. Your eye surgeon will be able to check this and advise you accordingly. Further:
- It is important that vision is stable for at least one year prior to this procedure.
- You must be 21 years of age or older.
- You must have healthy eyes and not any diseases and eye injuries, which may affect the treatment.
- You will not be suitable if you have immune problems.
- The procedure cannot be carried out during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
- The procedure is also unsuitable if you are taking any medications, which may affect the healing process or your sight.
