Risks with INTACS
Complications with intracorneal rings are rare, but include the following:
- Under correction
- Over correction
- Induced astigmatism
- Infection
- Fluctuating distance vision
- Glare/haloes
- Blurry vision, double vision, corneal blood vessels
- Extrusion of the insert
- Minimal scarring can occur in the area of the rings
- Reduction in central corneal sensation
- Difficulty with night vision
- Anterior chamber perforation during surgery
