Treating Hyperopia
If you are young and have mild to moderate hyperopia, you may still be able to see clearly at all distances because your natural lens can adjust or accommodate to increase focusing ability. As you gradually lose the ability to accommodate over time, blurred vision from hyperopia can become evident.
Some forms of hyperopia can be corrected. Far sighted glasses and contact lenses can be worn to change the way light rays bend into the eyes. Depending on your prescription and particular eye conditions, you may need to wear glasses or contacts all the time or just when you are reading or doing close-up work such as using a computer.
Refractive surgery procedures which may be an option, include:
- Laser Eye Surgery
- Lens Replacement Surgery
- New Lens Implants
- LTK - Laser Thermokeratoplasty
- CK - Conductive Keratoplasty
Speak to your opticians about your treatment options or alternatively, you may wish to contact your local eye clinic.
