Bifocals
Bifocals are used for people who need both near and farsighted vision correction. In bifocals there are two corrective lenses on each side of the glasses. As we get older we may need glasses for distance but then we cannot see up close. Reading glasses help up close but not for distance. Instead of two pairs of glasses. Bi-focals have a distance AND close-up lens. This helps distance vision and reading. Original bifocals have a distinct line between the two lenses. The most common type of bifocals, are for people who suffer from presbyopia and need a different prescription for close-up work. The upper part of the lens is used to correct distant vision and the lower half is used for near vision.
Some argue that bifocals can cause headaches and even dizziness. It can take time to get used to wearing bifocal glasses as you learn to move your head or the item you are looking at. For those who use a computer a lot, muscles can become tired due to the constant movement of the head.
