Vitamin E & Eye Health
Foods high in Vitamin E
Vitamin E can be found in vegetable oils, almonds, pecans, wheat germ, sunflower seeds and nuts. Vitamin E is a fat-soluble vitamin and one of a number of nutrients called antioxidants. It can help block some of the damage caused by toxic by-products released when the body transforms food into energy or when the body fights off infection.
Cataract & Vitamin E
Some research suggests that Vitamin E may help prevent cataracts.
Macular Degeneration & Vitamin E
Age related macular degeneration is a progressive disease, which affects a lot of people. There is no cure for it but research suggests that vitamin E, can help to prevent it.
It may be advisable to take vitamin E liquid supplements as a preventative measure, if you are approaching the age group where there is increased risk of developing cataract and macular degeneration. Advice should be sought from an eye care professional.
