New Vision Perception Research
A new study that investigates the way our brain processes visual images could change our understanding of visual perception, researchers claim. Scientists at Tel Aviv University will research the phenomenon of 'facial blindness' - a condition that renders sufferers unable to recognise familiar faces.
Researchers hope that their findings may be used to develop visual processing therapies or practical solutions that could help to better improve the link between eye sight and the brain's vision processing centres.
Researchers hope to use a 'brain-mapping' technique to record how vision is processed by different areas of the brain in order to generate a facial image or whole body image impression.
The research shows how important understanding eye sight and vision can be in treating neurological disorders.
