New Laser Eye Treatment

Researchers have developed a new laser eye therapy to successfully treat patients with diabetic macular edema. The new treatment, which uses laser micro-pulses, has proven to be as effective as standard laser therapies in clinical trials and could improve retinal sensitivity in the eyes of treated patients.

Iridex, the company who have developed the new technology, claim that the improvement of retinal sensitivity shows that the treatment could better improve the body's central vision function as well as vision quality.

Researchers hope that the laser therapy can be used to better treat diabetic macular edema - an increasingly common eye complaint.
