New Disease Detecting Optical Imaging Technology Revealed

A new study has shown that super sensitive optical imaging technology can be used to detect eye diseases. Researchers claim that new optical imaging technologies can detect various eye problems by detecting light given off by irradiated particles in nuclear medical agents that react to disease. Researchers believe that the discovery could lead to the development of new disease detecting techniques.

The research, unveiled at the Society of Nuclear Medicine's 57th annual meeting, suggests that sophisticated molecular imaging can be used to identify eye diseases - even before symptoms otherwise manifest. Researchers claim that fluorescent particles or quantum dots can be used to diagnose eye diseases and may even be used, in future, as part of image-guided therapy that can be used to treat various eye conditions.

It is hoped that technology can be further developed and used to better detect eye diseases. Researchers hope that diagnosing eye conditions earlier will help safeguard the vision of millions of people worldwide.
