Concern Grows Over Vodka Eyeballing
Medical experts are growing increasingly concerned following reports of the rise of 'vodka eyeballing' in Britain. Growing numbers of youtube videos and facebook profiles are dedicated to the dangerous trend that sees drinkers pour vodka shots into their eye balls as they try to achieve a rapid drunken high. The potentially blinding 'party trick' could cause irreparable damage to the cornea and the whites of the eye, experts warn.
The craze has swept America becoming popular with student, frat houses and some Las Vegas waitresses who perform the trick for extra tips. However, university authorities, student bodies and health experts are beginning to worry that the harmful trend could be spreading amongst students in the UK who may already be damaging their health by drinking to excess.
Experts warn abusing alcohol in this way is foolish in the extreme, explaining that the spirit is highly corrosive and could badly permanently damage the cornea and cause inflammation and clotting in the eye.
