Acid Attack Victims Eyesight Saved
A women who suffered severe facial burns following a random acid attack by a passing stranger has spoken of her joy that she has not lost her sight.
American Bethany Storro of Vancouver, Washington, was about to walk into a coffee shop when an unknown women supposedly said “Hey pretty girl, do you want to drink this?” before throwing an unidentified liquid, thought to be a highly corrosive acid, into Ms Storro's face – in an unprovoked attack that has shocked thousands of people, worldwide. Speaking about her devastating injuries at a press conference held in the Oregon hospital where she is currently recovering from her ordeal, Ms Storro revealed that her eyesight was saved only because she had chosen to purchase and wear a set of sunglasses on a whim, just earlier that day.
The humbling admission has acted to raise awareness about how truly devastating and life altering blindness can be.
