Unsafe Contact Lens Solution Recalled
Abbott Medical Optics has recalled two lots of multi-purpose contact lens solution amidst fears that the product's bottle tops have not been properly sterilized. Experts at the Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency warn that using the potentially contaminated eye-care solution could cause eye infections that may damage vision quality.
Consumers are being advised to return bottles of complete multi purpose solution from lot AH01072 and AH01225 to the place purchased or directly to the manufacturer.
The product range is also being recalled from supermarkets, opticians and pharmacies, after the Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency issued a Medical Device Alert urging professionals to remove the product from their shelves.
