Going Gaga For Lenses


Eye care experts have expressed concern that young people may be damaging their vision by choosing to wear decorative 'circle' lenses - made popular by Lady Gaga. Sales of the fashion lenses have soared since the eccentric pop star chose to wear circle lenses in the video for hit-single 'Bad Romance'.

Experts have voiced their opposition to the growing trend just one week after the American Academy of Ophthalmologists warned that using fashion lenses could irritate the eyes and lead to potentially blinding eye conditions.

Circle lenses cannot be bought over-the-counter in America, however, authorities fear that thousands of lenses are being purchased illegally via the internet. Experts have advised people to avoid using fashion lenses and to consult with eye care professionals.
