Conductive Keratoplasty Eye Surgery Procedure
CK involves making the cornea of the eye steeper in order to improve vision. CK involves using a cool tipped pen-shaped instrument, to shrink areas of corneal tissue. Eye drops are placed in the eye then radio wave energy is applied in a circular pattern around the periphery of the cornea. This means that interference with sight is minimal during the procedure. The circular movement acts like a belt tightening around the cornea and increases the corneas overall curvature to correct vision. It is a painless procedure with people returning to work within 48 hours and vision gradually improving over four weeks but results can be noticed immediately.
