Treatment of Colour Blindness
If you are colour blind, ishihara plates can be used to determine the type of colour deficiency and how severe it is. This involves many multicoloured dot pattern tests. Colour blindness is incurable and sufferers have to learn to live with the condition. Life can be made easier by arranging clothes in a certain order and remembering order instead of colour such as for traffic lights.
A child who is colour deficient and this is unrecognised may suffer quite considerably at school as learning materials often rely on colour. If your child has colour blindness, his/her teacher must be informed so that they can prepare different ways of teaching.
Certain filters can be worn over glasses and coloured contact lenses can be worn, which may help people with this condition cope, but wont enable colour to be seen.
