Types of Congenital Cataract
Congenital cataracts may occur in different parts of the eye including:
Anterior Polar Cataracts
These occur in the front part of the eye's lens. They are not usually operated on because they are usually quite small.
Posterior Polar Cataracts
These occur in the back portion of the eye's lens.
Nuclear Cataracts
These occur in the middle of the lens and are very common.
Cerulean Cataracts
These appear as blue dots and are usually non problematic.
