Living with Blindness

Blindness can be a difficult problem for individuals and families to deal with, especially if it has a sudden onset. When first diagnosed with vision loss, it is common for people to experience the five-stage grieving process: denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance. While everyone going through this has individual reactions to the loss of eyesight, it is important to be aware of these stages and to try to work through them towards a healthier perspective on blindness. Support groups and vision aides are available to help cope with visual impairment.
