Common Causes of Blindness
There are dozens of maladies which impair vision and each affects different parts of the eye to produce low vision. Some of these eye problems are reversible or manageable and some are not, but knowing how a disease corrupts the eye helps to gauge the degree to which someone’s vision has been destroyed and therefore the proper action can be made for each individual case. Understanding how low vision/blindness occurs can also be a helpful first step in coping with vision loss.
Five common eye diseases and their treatments:
- Macular Degeneration & Blindness
- Retinitis Pigmentosa & Blindness
- Detached Retinas & Blindness
- Cataracts & Blindness
- Glaucoma & Blindness
