Wavefront
Like LASIK laser eye surgery, Wavefront LASIK uses a microkeratome blade to make a corneal flap on the eye and an excimer laser, to remove corneal tissue however, the treatment area and amount of tissue removed is customised to a person’s eyes using Wavefront technology. This technology maps the corneal surface using a beam of light and personalised measurements can then be programmed into the laser for customised treatment. This gives excellent improvements in vision. Wavefront can measure nearsightedness, farsightedness and astigmatism and also, higher order aberrations that cannot be corrected with glasses or contact lenses.
