Testing the refractive power of an eye i.e. how well you can see at a certain distance. In an eye test, you will usually be asked to look at a chart and asked whether the letters are more or less clear with lenses placed in front of your eye. This information well help determine if you are nearsighted, farsighted, astigmatic or if you suffer from presbyopia. This information is then used to determine the prescription for your glasses or contact lenses and other options may be discussed, such as laser eye surgery.
