Overcorrection

A refractive surgery complication where eyes are corrected more than what was required. This can be a complication of laser eye surgery. Overcorrection can occur in two ways. If you are short sighted and vision correction is required to give you normal vision with no refractive error, then overcorrection would make you long sighted. If you are already long sighted, over correction would make you near sighted. In monovision overcorrection may be intentional, as it is in CK.
