Negative Lens (power)


Your eye prescription is used to determine the strength of glasses and contact lenses. It is also used to determine laser abrasion in laser eye surgery and in other vision improvement procedures. If you have a negative lens, you are short sighted (myopic) in that eye. The lens for such a prescription is thinner in the middle than on the sides and bends outwards.
