Nail Patella Syndrome


A genetic disorder, which can affect bone, joints, fingernails and your kidneys.  The disorder has recently been linked to glaucoma.  The following eye symptoms have been identified:

  • Decrease in peripheral vision
  • Blind spots
  • Unstable prescription
  • Sore, red eyes
  • Halos
  • Headaches, nausea and eye pain
  • Blurred vision particularly when adjusting to the dark

If you have glaucoma caused by Nail-Patella Syndrome, you may be prescribed medication and surgery may also be an option in severe cases.
