Multi focal Lens
This is a type of implantable contact lens (ICL) that is placed in the eye for the correction of short sight and far sight. Multifocal lenses eliminate the need for glasses or normal removable contact lenses.
The lenses have two or more different lens powers to help one focus both near and far. Often, multi-focal lenses are prescribed if you already wear glasses and have developed age related presbyopia. The top of the lens may be used to correct distance vision and the bottom part used to correct reading vision. If the lens suddenly changes prescription, it may be termed bifocal or trifocal. If the transition is smooth, it may be termed progressives/varifocal.
