Limbal Relaxing Incisions

Many people suffer from the refractive error known as astigmatism. It occurs when the cornea is shaped unevenly with different areas of the eye seeing different things. LRI’s are tiny incisions that are made on the cornea itself. More specifically, the incisions are made on the limbus. This makes the cornea rounder and less rugby ball shaped and with this, vision becomes improved.

LRI is fast procedure, taking only seconds to complete and is carried out under a local anaesthetic. Results can be seen within a week and little discomfort is experienced with this procedure.
