Lazer Eye Surgery
There are a number of different types of lazer eye surgery (American spelling) and your individual conditions, together with affordability, will determine which procedure is most suitable for you. PRK was the first widely recognised technique and involves dissolving the epithelium of the eye so that the laser can be applied to the cornea. LASIK surgeries are today the most popular and have been advanced further with new Wavefront technologies and IntraLase, which offer more accurate results by using highly precise and controlled systems. Other types of surgery include LASEK and Epi-Lasik, a variation on traditional LASIK surgery.
Lazer eye surgery can have a dramatic affect on a person’s life and self-esteem by boosting confidence, which may have been lost by dependency on glasses or contact lenses. Practically, laser eye surgery is the ideal solution for those keen on particular sports or within certain career paths.
