Keratomileusis


A surgical procedure used to improve refractive errors of the eye. The technique is today used in LASIK laser eye surgery. Traditional keratomileusis involved using a cryolathe, which froze thin flaps of corneal tissue. Lathe cut the flaps and after thawing, these reshaped flaps were replaced upon the cornea.
