Eyeglasses
Eyeglasses or spectacles are placed in a frame and worn on the bridge of the nose whilst being hooked around the back of the ear. They are usually worn to make vision clearer. Glasses can correct nearsightedness (myopia), farsightedness (hyperopia), abnormal eye curvature (astigmatism) and lack of near focusing ability with age (presbyopia). Glasses are usually prescribed by an optometrist or ophthalmologist and dispensed and fitted according to an eye prescription by an optometrist. The optometrist will help you select a frame, colour, lens and frame material, lens coating, lens shape etc.
