Cornea


A transparent covering on the surface of the eye, which is responsible for most of the focusing power of the eye. The cornea covers the Iris, Pupil and Anterior Chamber and is made up of five layers, the Corneal epithelium, Bowman's layer, Corneal stroma, Descemet's layer and Corneal endothelium.
